I'm most likely a beagle/basset mix, very long-bodied. I'm currently 22 lbs. but at 1 year I could still grow. I was found as a stray so my age is a guess. While I was a stray, I would hang out near a manufacturing park and I was well-fed, then a Good Samaritan took me home to find my owner but he never did. I lived with younger kids, a cat, and a bigger dog. Then I came to Midwest BREW where I was brought up to date with all my vaccinations and my foster family has me working on manners. Now I live with two beagles and I play all day. My foster mom says I am smart. So far, I've learned potty training and some commands like “sit”, “no” and “stop”. I'm still working on taking treats nicely and some advanced commands. Of course, I love food. I like to eat my food as fast as I can and then run to my brother’s bowl and try to take his. He doesn't let me but I always try. Mom has found mixing some water in my food does slow me down a bit otherwise I eat at sonic speed. My foster sister is also 1 year old and we play ALL day. We also bark a lot when we play so my mom says I have to let you know I can be a loud player. I love everyone I ever meet so I'm pretty happy most of the day. I do need to be watched because I can get into my human sister’s backpack or my foster mom’s purse in a nanosecond and find any treats they might have in there. My mom works from home and I like that. At first, I followed her everywhere, even to the bathroom. I was not going to let my new pack out of my sight. Now that I am more comfortable, I hang out on the couch or sunbath on our deck is my favorite spot. I am crate trained. Sometimes I bark when you put me in it but then I calm down. At night I like to sleep with my humans or on the floor next to them, not my crate. I'm a really good boy who is still learning but very smart and highly trainable. I am eager to find my permanent family.
