Hi! My name is Jake and I am looking for a forever home. I am an owner surrender after my previous owner agreed to give me up rather than being cited for animal cruelty (I had to live on their porch in a cat crate all of the time & was never let out to use the bathroom). I appear to be a rat terrier mix (maybe with something bigger). I am 10 weeks old and 8 pounds. I will probably be a medium sized dog when I'm full grown around 30-35 pounds. Even with my rough start, my foster mom says I'm super sweet, trusting and love everyone I meet, both two and four-legged. I'm good on leash and am doing really well with potty-training. I will need continued training and socialization to become the great adult dog my foster mom says I'm on my way to becoming. PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. May 19, 2024, 4:44 amAdoption processOur adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.Shelter locationWe have weekly adoption events at PetsMart every Saturday from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm at the Eastgate Square Shopping Center, Rt. 38, Moorestown, NJ and PetsMart, 62 Centerton Rd, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
